8/31/13 Feather River Salmon Fishing
/0 Comments/in Fishing Reports /by James NetzelToday 8/31, we fishing the Feather River between Gridley and Oroville. The river was full of fish, however, they didn’t want to bite very well. The warm water and boat traffic made the bite tough. We managed one fish and had 4 other grabs before calling it a day. Most of the guys we knew on the river had about the same results.

11/2/12 Sacramento River (Clarksburg Area)
/0 Comments/in Fishing Reports /by James NetzelToday we fish out of Clarksburg on the Sacramento River with Eric and Matthew Snyder. Our mission today was for Matthew to catch his first salmon. Shortly into our first pass we hooked up. Matthew brought this fish about half way in and off it went. We got the lines back out and within 200 yards we hooked up again. This time Matthew landed his first salmon that weighed in around 9 or 10 pounds. After that we went into a two hour dry spell. Finally we hooked up again and Matthew’s dad Eric landed a nice bright salmon that went around 15 pounds. Half way through our last pass the sea lions started showing up so we finished that pass and called it a day. Both fish were caught on plugs with sardine wrap.

/0 Comments/in Fishing Reports /by James NetzelHard fighting salmon today, we took these plus our deckhand took his turn at some as well. First couple fish fell for a K-16 Kwikfish with Sardine wrap (soaked in Pautzke Nectar) and the rest on eggs cured with Pautzke Fire Cure. Its amazing how strong P-Line Fluorocarbon is, twice today the fish went under the boat sliding the leader along the edge of the boat. Amazing stuff!
